Context and responsibilities

Product design was led by the investor and the production partner. Key inputs, including the joint design, unit cost, packed size and freight, were not yet final, so all commercial tools were built to be updated as inputs changed.

Responsibility 1

Financial planning and pricing

  • Built the 2026 monthly plan and the 2026-2035 cash-flow model with three scenarios.
  • Benchmarked 20 comparable products across five markets and prepared the quote and MOQ analysis.
  • Researched and shortlisted potential buyers and sourcing channels.
Responsibility 2

Supplier and contract coordination

  • Sourced canopy fabric suppliers and coordinated the sample to completion.
  • Obtained options and quotations for connectors, packaging and photo/video production.
  • Prepared and followed up one LOI and two framework agreements.
Responsibility 3

Project tracking

  • Set up and maintained the weekly tracker for 12 workstreams.
  • Recorded status, blockers, next actions and owners, with a weekly history.
  • Prepared the weekly status review for management.
02

10-year financial model

All assumptions are held on a single input sheet. Volume and price drive revenue, unit cost and freight drive margin, then expansion, royalty, marketing, tax and working capital lead to cash.

NPV (12% discount rate)
IRR
Payback year
Capacity expansion
Revenue per yearCumulative net cashUSD, demo values
Show the numbers

Capacity expansion is triggered when average monthly volume exceeds 500 units. Royalty is calculated on gross profit after expansion costs and split between two partners.

Units × price→Revenue−Unit cost & freight−Expansion=Adjusted gross profit−Royalty, marketing, tax−Working capital, capex=Net cash
03

Pricing and MOQ analysis

Twenty comparable 3×3 m shelters were benchmarked across five markets. Retail prices supported the intended quote; the analysis tested whether that quote remained profitable on a delivered B2B basis.

Net after 5% first-order discount
Margin Ex-Vietnam
Quote needed for 20% margin
Smallest order that breaks even delivered
Delivered margin by order size

Delivered cost includes fixed freight and handling per order, a per-unit delivery cost and a channel buffer. Smaller orders absorb a higher share of fixed cost.

Findings

At the intended quote, the Ex-Vietnam margin was thin and delivered orders were loss-making at every tested order size.

Recommendation

Hold the quote for review until the bill of materials, freight quotations and buyer margins are confirmed, before any buyer outreach.

Supplier and contract coordination

Coordination of supplier requests and commercial documents, with open terms and status maintained in one register.

05

Project tracking

A weekly tracker covering 12 workstreams, recording status, blockers, next actions and owners, with a week-by-week history. It serves as the basis for the weekly management review.
